Kansas City Home Builders Association

Background:
The Kansas City Home Builders Association (KCHBA) is a leading advocate and resource for the residential building industry throughout the Kansas City region. Representing builders, remodelers, suppliers and industry professionals, the organization supports its members through education, networking and industry leadership while also serving as a trusted guide for homeowners. Through initiatives like the Parade of Homes and ongoing community involvement, KCHBA helps connect the public with reputable professionals and plays an essential role in strengthening the local housing market.

Challenge:
KCHBA approached ER Marketing with a clear objective to transform its website into a resource that speaks directly to homeowners while still supporting the essential needs of its builder and trade members. Although widely recognized as a membership-driven organization, its digital presence needed to expand beyond industry professionals and better communicate with homeowners seeking guidance, information and trusted builder connections, without compromising the tools and resources members rely on.

Solution:
To accomplish this, ER Marketing began with a strategic UX and content audit that examined the behaviors and motivations of homeowner visitors. This research shaped the central strategy of the redesign to build a dual-pathway experience where homeowners could easily find resources, explore the Parade of Homes, read news updates and learn more about the organization’s mission while members could still quickly access the essential information they rely on. The new site was designed and developed with a new architecture that elevated homeowner-focused content by creating clear navigation to key content related to their Parade of Homes, detailed committee information, refreshed blog and news sections, podcast features, interactive image galleries and more. The new build also incorporated more visual storytelling through a modernized design and more intuitive UX, enabling KCHBA to highlight its community impact, foundation events and the educational role it plays in the Kansas City region. At the same time, member content was reorganized to be accessible from one streamlined area that improved access to key information like the member directory, member benefits and elite partners.

Summary:
The final website reflects both the mission and momentum of KCHBA. It now serves as a true digital destination for homeowners seeking inspiration, information and trusted connections within the residential building industry while preserving the tools and structure essential to the association’s members. With improved navigation, a modern user interface, expanded visual content and a more purposeful storytelling approach, the new site elevates KCHBA’s digital presence and strengthens its role as a key resource for the Kansas City community.
